Industrial hemp has been used since 8000 BC, and it's properties include being anti bacterial, needing no fertilizers and almost no water to grow, it cleans and restaures the nutrients in the soil, and it is also very durable. In fact, Hemp is so strong that Henry Ford even built a car out of it.

Runners care guide
Your Hemp runners are washable! Cleaning your kicks is a cinch and they won’t lose anything in performance or shape after being washed. To clean your runners, remove the insoles and laces and brush off excess dirt with a towel or soft brush.
Throw the shoes in the washing machine on the wool/delicates cycle (cold water). We recommend using a linen bag or pillowcase. Use a gentle detergent and avoid bleach at all costs. If you’d like a refresh of your insoles, wash them by hand for best results.
Do NOT tumble dry – air dry your runners! Let them dry for at least 24 hours and you should see a fresh pair of kicks ready for the next adventure. Just reinsert the insole and the laces and get on with your day.

The bottom soles are made with recycled composites from old shoes, which not only protects the environment but protects you from slipping as well.

How can I be 100% sure of my size?
Our running shoes fit true to size Hemp is also a very adjustable material that will give in quite easily.
If you want to be 100% sure to get the right fit, you should look at pair of similar running shoes and look at the CM/JP value. This value indicates the measurement of the shoe in centimeters and it is the most accurate measurement of your shoe sizing.If your shoes are CM/JP is 27, you should pick the corresponding CM/JP in our size chart.

What if the shoes don't fit? Exchanges and returns?
We want to get you in a pair that fit right, and that you love wearing. If you are not satisfied with your shoes, contact us within 60 days of receiving your 8000Kicks to arrange for a replacement, exchange, or refund. Footwear must be in new condition, with no signs of wear, and in original packaging. All returns require a return authorization from 8000Kicks' Customer Service. We reserve the right to require a photo of the footwear.

Where do you ship from?
We currently fulfill our website orders from Mira Loma, in California, and from Lisbon, Portugal.
For this campaign, we will ship directly from our factory in China by container/air to you, in order to save time and shipping costs.

Is there a warranty? are they durable?
Unfortunately, we don't have a warranty because shoes are subject to maximum wear and tear. However, from our experiences both our hemp and our soles have performed very well on our "torture" tests and we can confidently say that they are stronger than many branded shoes in the same price range. We also tested over 10 types of different glues to find a perfect fit that would survive under the harshest conditions.
However, if for some accident or problem our shoes do not perform as expected, please contact us and we can deal with it and issue a replacement pair if necessary.

Are these waterproof? are they breathable?
Our Hemp Runners are not waterproof and they are very breathable.
For this model in particular we have not used a membrane and we have decided to keep a single hemp knit layer for extra elasticity and breathability.

Can I take this on a flight? Will police dogs come after me?
8000Kicks are 100% legal everywhere in the world. Our team has traveled to Italy, France, USA, Canada, Morocco, Portugal and many other countries without any issues. Hemp is the sober cousin of marijuana, which means that it has no psychoactive components, less than 0.3% THC, so definitely not a drug.
In some countries it is illegal to cultivate hemp, but it is 100% legal to buy and sell finished hemp products like soap, paper and apparel as long as it is produced abroad.

Hemp is the sober cousin of marijuana, which means that it has no psychoactive components, less than 0.3% THC, so you are definitely not getting high. Now seriously, please note that smoking the shoes is not a good idea and it might get you hospitalized.

One night, after a few beers and joints with the boys, someone came up with the idea of making a shoe for smoking. It was a 5-in-morning-kind-of-idea, or maybe not.
Bernardo, the co-founder, asked the most unlikely person for help: Otilia, his grandmother, with over 50 years’ experience in textiles. Together, they spent over 1 year actively working with suppliers from around the world until what is now the World’s 1st waterproof hemp shoe.
