Is hemp good for hats?
Hemp is a fiber that has been used for milenniums. Ancient Egyptians used it to make rope, textiles, fine linen, and sails.
Hemp is a naturally durable fiber that was widely used in textiles and shoes until it was banned in the 70s. Hemp is also naturally anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, breathable and comfortable, which makes it a great option to build headwear.
At 8000Kicks we also made it waterproofrepellent by adding a bio based wax cotting that reppels liquids and stains from coming in.
We have been speding years developing this fiber to the point where we can show the world this is the best natural fiber available.
What is an hemp hat?
An Hemp hat is made like other hemp hats, but the fiber is different. Common materials used in making shoes caps are cotton, leather, and polyester. However, hemp hats are made from hemp fiber, which is one of the various ways hemp plants can be used.

At 8000Kicks we picked hemp because it is very durable, sustainable, anti bacterial, breathable, comfortable and we also made it water repellent.
Are hemp hats durable?
Hemp is a naturally durable fiber that was widely used in textiles and shoes until it was banned in the 70s. It was also used to build some of Ford's cars.
Unlike cotton, Hemp has long fibers, which brings a big edge in durability when making fabrics. For that reason, hemp is in many ways the strongest natural fiber available, and our hemp caps are also very durable.
According to the hemp foundation, hemp can be even stronger than steel.
